                                   author/freelance writer/speaker

Reading Nathan McCall's memoir Makes Me Wanna Holler partly inspired my quest to become a published writer--in spite of never setting foot on a college campus or taking a journalism class of any kind.
Under the tutelage of an author and news reporter, who also happened to be a co-worker at the D.C. headquarters of a major publishing house, I was able to realize my aspiration when the editors at Today's Black Woman published a piece I had submitted to their magazine. Shortly thereafter, I was offered the opportunity of becoming a regular contributing writer to TBW, as well as a new magazine soon to launch titled Black Men.
Since that time, I've gone on to write for Upscale, Heart & Soul, and most recently, the Baltimore Sun. I've also been a repeat guest on the Audrey Chapman radio show on WHUR in Washington, D.C.
Following some ten years of writing freelance for various magazines, I set my sights on what I felt was my next challenge on the literary ladder--writing a work of fiction. Happily, I can now say I've been able to realize that aspiration as well.
Born and raised in Queens, New York, I now reside in suburban Baltimore. I'm represented by the Barrett Books Literary Agency.

A Box of White Chocolate is my first novel. I'm currently at work on my next.
